shot values" explain the fatal attraction to this
Rees Jones "target"-style track, which is
"pretty" and plush" but "challenging"
in a schizophrenic way, with "front and back nines
like two different worlds"; given a "staff
that's not all stuck-up" and "nice practice
facilities", even the "many long carries over
the desert" and the "added housing developments"
don't dissuade daredevils who declare that they "like
it much better than" its swankier, saner neighbors. |

with holes named "Painted Desert", "Water Chant"
and "Good Medicine", the par 72, 6,700 yard championship
layout captures the spirit and the atmosphere of the surrounding
Sonoran desertscape. Architect Rees Jones has designed this
excellent signature course in Legend Trail. Set at 3,000 feet
elevation and traversing through large stands of saguaro cactus,
Legend Trail is both challenging and a highly memorable golf
experience.
