With "breathtaking views" of Four Peaks and a "nice blend of desert and mountain styles", this "real beaut" "starts out friendly" but "begins to show its teeth at the turn" - "you'll be ready for the 19th hole after the back side's "300-ft. elevation change "leaves you exhausted"; high-energy low-handicappers call it "a joy to play", sighing "I could live here" in one of the "homes that surround the front side", even though wilderness buffs say the buildings "detract from the experience."

Profile: This scenic desert links-style course features numerous elevation changes in a canyon setting. Accuracy is foremost on this course's rolling fairways surrounded by desert. Strategically placed arroyos provide a good test of golfer's shotmaking skills from the tees, as well as approaching the greens. The greens are medium-sized and undulating. Water hazards, in the form of ponds, come into play on four holes. The signature hole is #17, a 209-yard, par 3, featuring a segmented green that is guarded by large boulders on both sides. "GOLF Magazine" rated this course 42nd best under the 1996 category of the "Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S." The 6,004-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 75.2 and a slope of 141.

Signature Hole: The 17th Hole at SunRidge Canyon is truly one of a kind. Only here can a golfer play a 209-yard par three over a boxed canyon one day, then play a 152-yard par three off an elevated tee the next day.
